Things Not to Do When Creating a Post on Craigslist

Do you want to create a posting on Craigslist.org? Regardless of whether you are looking to make extra money by selling or if you want to advertise your services for hire, there are some things that you just shouldn’t do. If you want to generate interest or excitement about what you have to offer, continue reading on for a few helpful tips.

DO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. If you are relatively new to the internet, you might not know that this is considered yelling. In fact, you may likely receive more hate mail than interest. Avid internet users absolutely despise people who write their entire Craigslist ads in capital letters. Not only is considered yelling, but an entire paragraph or two in capital letters is basically impossible to read.

Do not hit that submit button until you have proofread your listing. Yes, grammar isn’t very important when trying to make $ 5 off a used DVD, but you might actually be surprised. Many sellers like to avoid Craigslist sellers who can’t seem to put a sentence together. Don’t be that person. Proofread your Craigslist ad to first make sure it actually makes sense. Then, focus on the format. Long sentences and paragraphs are not recommended. Keep it short and simple and use bullet points to outline particular features or anything of important interest. Craigslist buyers and Craigslist service needers do not need or want to spend 10 minutes reading what appears to be a book. If yours is anything but short and sweet, don’t expect much interest to be generated.

Do not give your entire life story or even just a couple sentences of it. No one cares that you are selling a new baby crib because your cute little son outgrew his and is now in his “big boy racing bed.” As cute as it is, people just don’t care. In fact, if you write your life story or the history of an item you are selling on Craigslist, some buyers may not even bothering contacting you. They want to find a good deal, exchange cash for item and then be on their way. They are likely thinking “this seller is crazy; if they share this much information online, what are they going to be like in person?”

Do not leave interested readers without a good way to contact you. This is very important if you are offering your services for pay on Craigslist. Yes, Craigslist will provide you with a method of viewing all interested replies, but you likely won’t have any. Interest buyers or service seekers don’t like to spend more than a second longer than they need to on Craigslist. Once again, whether you are selling a product or a service, have your phone number outlined in plain sight. A phone number is best, but if you are one of those people who has a fear of talking to strangers or just don’t want your contact information online, please post your email address (even if you create a free one just for the purpose of using Craigslist).

Things To Do Before You Buy A Contact Relationship Management Software

If you are an impulse buyer, it is always best to refrain before buying software. There are so many on the market that you really need to find out what it is you need it to do before you spend money, especially if it is a lot of money. Here are some decisions to make about what you want your Contact Relationship Management (CRM) to do. Who are you saving into the system? Are you keeping active clients or people who were one off clients from years ago? What about people who are potential clients? People you met networking or out and about and you could use as suppliers? The information that you hold on each of these is quite different, and you need to decide who is going to be in your list and what information are you going to hold, detailed or general, their spouses name and birthday or just their name, no personal details. It is not whether the CRM has the fields (labelled areas to hold the information), because if it has it and you don’t want it you can ignore the fields you don’t want. The problem arises if the CRM does not have the fields you want and you cannot add any custom fields in. Contact information. Different from point one in that I am talking about actually contact with the, well, contact. Do you want to keep track of calls, emails, text messages, meetings and such? If you do you need to know how, if the software is too complicated or there is too much information that you have to enter, are you really going to keep track? Another very important thing to remember is that by keeping track of all contact with your contacts you could have reports or filters that show when you last contacted or who you need to contact because it has been too long. You need to decide if this is the type of information that is valuable to you and how you want it to look. Sales information. This is usually called opportunities, how do you want to treat them and what information do you want to put in. When I use opportunities I have one opportunity such as a course I have developed for example Working with Pivot Tables, that would be listed as the opportunity. Then I would like to associate the opportunity with contacts I think would be interested in it. That may be one contact or many. Do you do the same or is it only one opportunity with one contact like in the case of a Lawyer, they can create the opportunity of divorce for a contact they hear has separated from their spouse. Interaction with other software? Do you want to have to go into the CRM to write down every email you have sent? Some programs will allow you to email the program, then using the To field will file it with the contact that has the matching email. Other programs will allow you to email straight from the program so you don’t use your Outlook, Thunderbird or other mail programs for business. Do you want it to create merge documents like letters? Ease of use. How often do you have to go into help or are left searching for things? Even though there is standard terms that are usually used see if everything is clear for you. If you can’t find what you need or it is difficult to enter information because everything has custom names that do not mean anything to you or you have to enter data in in ways that is not natural to you, keep looking. There are a lot more that a CRM could do but thinking about these 5 will help you find a CRM that you can use for a long time. Be realistic, how much time do you want to spend in it each day? Take a test drive, most programs offer a trial period and some are free for a set number of contacts or space on their server. If you can select a CRM program early in your business before you get to thousands of contacts, you have a greater chance of keeping them organised and getting more business.

Things You Can Do to Update Your House

If you are looking to update your house or condominium then there are few huge fixes that you can do. One big fix that you can do is change the flooring in your house. If you already have hardwood floors, but they are old and scratched up then an easy fix that you can do is refinish them. To give your house a facelift then you should tear up any soiled or gross or outdated carpet. Also if you have any laminate flooring then you should tear it up because it looks cheap and ugly. Once you have torn up all the disgusting flooring in your home you are ready to start laying new flooring down.

When you are thinking about what kind of new flooring you should purchase you should consider hardwood flooring especially oak flooring and maple flooring. Hardwood floors last a long time and they look great. They also complement all different kinds of decors. But, if for some reason you do not like hardwood floors then you should consider tiling or carpeting your floor. When you are looking at either of these mediums you should make sure you get a color and style that complements the rest of the room. That is just one aspect of carpet and tile that is very important to think about before you buy. Flooring is very important because it has the power to totally change the look of a room. Therefore, flooring is something that you can change if you are interested in updating your condominium or house.

Some more things that you can change if you are interested in updating the look of your house are your kitchen cabinets, counters and appliances. Kitchen cabinets tend to look outdated very quickly so they are something that you should definitely update. If you have financial constraints then you could just replace the cabinet doors or stain the cabinets a darker color. Another thing that you can do if you are on a budget is paint the cabinet doors. But, if you do have enough money to do a full renovation then you can rip out the cabinets and start over new. When you are picking out cabinets it is a good idea to consult an interior designer. Once you are satisfied with your new or improved cabinets then you can pick out new counters. If you have tile counters or plastic counters then you should update your counters by replacing them with granite. When you are picking out new counters you should make sure that they go with your cabinets. After picking out a great counter then you should pick out new appliances.

Appliances can also look outdated really quickly. Stainless steel appliances are often the best way to go because they match with a lot of different counters and cabinets. Once you have purchased your new appliances you are finished with the kitchen renovation process. Fixing up your kitchen is another thing that you can do if you want to update the look of your house.

Connor R. Sullivan hired a oak flooring company to refinish the floors at his elderly parents home. The maple flooring company he used in his home were fantastic.

5 Things You Can Do to Live Peacefully With Asthma

Despite the fact that asthma is quite common, many are still anxious about finding ways to effectively cope when an asthmatic attack occurs. The key to peace of mind is being prepared for possible attacks. Here are five basic steps to help alleviate your stress. Your physician may have additional ones.

1. Establish an Asthma Action Plan

Provide action when needed by using asthma action plan and post it on the refrigerator door, so everyone will know exactly what to do at the next attack.

An asthma action plan:

Is a Easy-to-Follow diagram of steps to follow in event of an attack.

Is a written outline of all important facts about the patient’s history.

Details the medications prescribed for the patient, and when to take them.

Without an action plan everyone’s emotions take over and mistakes are made which can be harmful or cause delay in getting help.

2. Keep Emergency Medications in a Common Location

However, most doctors suggest using “rescue inhalers” (such medications as Proventil™ or albuterol©) because they provide immediate relief during an attack.

3. Identify Asthma Triggers and Reduce Them

An asthma attack is often triggered by environmental factors. Prevention is essential.

Keep the indoor environment free of triggers (smoke, cooking odors, pollen dust, mold, pet dander, etc.).

Use HEPA filters in air cleaners and vacuum cleaners to remove airborne factors.

Consider minimizing carpets, curtains and bed coverlets which collect dust.

4. Provide Assistance in Monitoring Condition

Many asthma victims are young children. Parents play an important role in monitoring the child’s condition, recognizing early signs and quickly controlling symptoms.

One way to do this is with a device known as peak flow meter. If your doctor follows this protocol, the device can assess your child’s best breathing against his current state to know if medication and a call to the doctor is needed.

5. Maintain a Healthy Well-being

People with this condition must make the effort to remain healthy in body and maintain stable emotions (events leading up to an attack) by focusing on planed tasks.

Healthy diet, moderate regular exercise (unless symptoms exist or triggers are present), normal body weight and positive self image are very helpful to staying well.

Children take cues from parents on their health and self-image, see them as abnormal or sickly and they will be.

Contact your local American Lung Association to see if your child can be involved in education and play activities with other asthmatic children, especially an Asthma Camp in the summer. Nothing says “normal” like playing with other kids just like you.

Contact your local hospital’s respiratory therapy department about meeting with the Asthma Educator for more information and helpful advice.

Three Things You Can Do to Help Prevent Future Blackhead Breakouts

Anyone can get blackheads, but those with oily skin are the most vulnerable.  Blackheads are formed when a mixture of excessive sebum (skin’s natural oil) and dead skin cells clog an open pore.  When this pore is exposed to air, it creates the black color.  Anyone who suffers from blackheads knows how difficult it can be to remove once surfaced, so the best way to treat the blemishes is by prevention.  Everyone’s skin is different, but diligently following these three steps can help prevent future breakouts.

#1  Cleanse Your Skin Every Morning And Night

Keeping your skin clear of oil and debris is the most important element of blackhead prevention.  Cleansing your skin before bedtime will clear your skin of the oil and impurities it was exposed to during the day.  Cleansing your face in the morning will clear the excessive oil produced while you were sleep.  Choose a mild, non-comedongenic cleanser that is soap alcohol free.  Cleansers containing these ingredients can be too drying to the skin, stimulating the sebaceous glands to produce more oil.  Clay-based cleansers and masks are recommended since the clay helps draw out the oil in the skin.  Be careful to avoid over cleansing, as this can also lead to drying out the skin.

#2  Exfoliate

Getting rid of the oil on your skin is only half the battle.  Now you need to slough off the dead skin to prevent build-up.  The best way to do so is by exfoliating once or twice a week.  Avoid using harsh scrubs, and choose a gentle exfoliation product that is made of fine micro-beads. Alternatively, you can use a gentle salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide products which chemically exfoliate the skin.  Exfoliate gently, preferably in a circular motion, to avoid skin irritation and damage.

#3  Keep Oil Absorbing Sheets With You

Oil absorbing sheets are brilliant for keeping your oily skin under control throughout the day.  These sheets are very easy to use: you just take a sheet and gently blot the oily areas of the face.  Oil blotting sheets are readily available (you can get it at any local drugstore) and relatively inexpensive.  But if your face produces oil every 10 minutes, the cost of buying sheets can add up quickly.  Alternatively you can cut up thin tissue paper (like toilet seat covers), which can be more cost effective.

It’s much easier to prevent blackheads than to remove them.  If you keep your skin clear by cleansing, exfoliating, and blotting your face throughout the day, you will be on your way to having clear, blackhead free skin.

Several Things That You Can Do to Spruce Up Your Home’s Exterior

There are many things that you can do if you want to spruce up the outside of your house. One of these things that you can do is buy a custom flag from a flag store.  This extra added touch will tell passers by that you care about the appearance of your house. There are countless other things that you can do to add curb appeal to your home.

One thing that you can do to make your home’s exterior more aesthetically pleasing is paint it. If your house is already painted then you could add a fresh coat of paint of the same color. Or if you are particularly daring then you could add a fresh coat of paint of a different color. If your house isn’t painted on the outside and it is made out of brick or another medium that can be painted then you can paint your house. Make sure that you pick out a good color because that is something that you need to get right. Also make sure that you pick a painter that will do a quality job. Paining your house is just one thing that you can do to spruce up the outside of your home.

You can also landscape your yard. This may seem unrelated to the exterior of your house, but they are very much connected. You can either do the landscaping work yourself or hire a landscaping professional to do the work. A great landscaping job will complement the exterior of your house thereby improving the look of the exterior. This is another thing that you can do if you want to update or spruce up the outside of your home.

Another thing that you can do to improve the exterior of your house is do a huge face lift. This can include a variety of things like building a porch or making a bay window. This large of a project will require you to hire a contractor and some workers to complete the project. If you are on a budget then this may not be the answer for you when it comes to sprucing your house up. But, if you do not have any financial constraints then you can totally revamp your house in a big way. This is another thing that you can do if you are interested in revamping the outside of your house.

Finally,  something you can do if you want to spruce up the outside of your home is add outdoor lighting. Sometimes a couple spotlights and side walk lighting is all that it takes to improve the look of your home. This is a very little thing that you can do, but it will make a huge difference in the exterior of your home. This is also a very easy project to complete that does not take very much time or money. Clearly, there are many things that you can do if you want to spruce up the outside your home. It is up to you to choose the improvements that you want to make for your house.
